Although there are no U.S. entrants in the women's 800, Tanya Wright of
Canada (Rice University) is entered.

She is three-time Canadian national junior champion in the event, and
finished 3rd this past summer in the Canadian Olympic Trials at the same
distance.

Many Canadians who qualified for world juniors have not been permitted
(by their U.S. university coaches) to compete in Santiago.  Although
Rice definitely could have used her this fall, they encouraged her to
run at worlds.
