Note to Statisticians,
In Walt Murphy's X-Country X-Press (V. 16, No. 7, 31-Oct) he notes that the
University of Colorado's distance running star, Kara Wheeler, and her
younger sister Kendall, would like to be known by their legal surname
Grgas-Wheeler. Murphy reported that Colleen Reilly, from the U. Colorado
Sports Information Department, explained that the name Grgas stems from
their natural father, Mirko Grgas, who died then the sisters were very
young. Later on, they took the name of their mother's second husband, Tom
Wheeler.
