Since EVERY major meet (and most almost-major ones) in the U.S. has been announced in 
both meters and feet for close to 25 years, and since I know that Conway has been to 
his fair share of these major meets, I can only draw the conclusion that he has given 
us the evidence to contradict his own argument.

Since he doesn't think meters were given (yet we know they were), the inescapable 
conclusion is that his brain simply tuned them out because the English was available, 
and that's what he really WANTS to hear.

Given the choice, U.S. fans want to hear English measure, and I can't think of a 
single good reason they shouldn't get their first choice if we hope to keep them as 
fans.
