England is the only country that I know has converted all standing room areas (terraces) to seats at major venues. I know there are still standing room areas in many other countries, even for track meets! I have stood at Bislett, Zurich and Linz. Tickets for the first two weren't cheap, either. $25 and $35 respectively. There was a standing room section in Gothenburg for the 1995 Worlds as well. sideshow
