Actually Warmerdam did go higher (legally) indoors than he did outdoors. He
reached 4.79 in 1943 or .02 higher than his best outdoors WR. Still not as
high as Dragila.

Can't comment on 16 footer indoors since my only reference is IAAF record
progression which didn't include marks dq'ed for various reasons.

Is there any truth to the legend that Dutch actually
jumped 16' indoors at a meet, but was not given credit
due to the pole falling into the pit under the bar?
Several individuals have repeasted this story, but I
have never seen confirmation of it in print.
