For anyone interested in throwing and strength events: I will be hosting a throwing clinic at WPI in Worcester, MA, on the last weekend in July. The clinic will focus primarily on shot put and discus, but will also cover hammer, weight, some of the highland games events and weight training. We are pleased to have Brian Oldfield and John Powell as our featured athletes. Oldfield's 75' shot put and multiple highland games records coupled with his throwing philosophy, make him and excellent clinician. Powell's 4 Olympic Games and 236' discus mark assures him a spot as one of the greatest technicians of all time. >From old war stories, to leading edge training methods, this intensive learn by doing clinic will allow athletes and coaches of all levels to ask questions and learn from two of track and fields elite, and trade ideas and concepts with some other highly qualified individuals. The clinic will cost $300 for overnight athletes, $250 for overnight coaches, and $250 for commuter athletes. Included in the cost is a throwing video for shot put or discus, food and all the information you can digest!
