Don't forget Ted Corbitt, 1952 Olympian, top finisher at Boston, first
president of the New York Road Runners Club.  He's better known for his
ultra-running, his most impressive performance being 5:35 (6:40 per mile)
for 50 miles at age 50.

He was also one of the first real proponents of high mileage training,
brushing 200 miles per week at his peak.
