Raschker named Athlete of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS – Masters Hall of Famer Phil Raschker has been named USA Track
& Field’s Athlete of the Week after she set five age group world records
last weekend at the USA Masters Track & Field Championships in Orono, Maine.

Owner of over 100 age group world records, Raschker improved upon her eight
gold medals at last year’s championships by winning nine events this year in
the women’s 55-59 age group. Raschker set new world records with her
performances in the pentathlon (4,809 points), pole vault (3.0 meters/9
feet,10 inches), 100m (13.30), 200m (27.39) and 300mH (49.14). She also set
an American age group record in the triple jump (9.66m/31-8.50), and she
captured gold in the high jump (1.40m/4-7), long jump (4.90m/16-0.75) and
80mH (13.03).

In other outstanding performances this past weekend, Team USA ran away with
most of the gold at the NACAC championships in San Antonio, Texas. The
United States topped the competition with 30 gold medals.

James Carter led the charge with two gold medals, starting off the winning
4x400m relay (3:01.15) and setting the meet record in the 400m hurdles
(48.95). Another double winner at NACAC was Brianna Glenn, who won the long
jump (6.22m/20-05) and helped set the meet record in the 4x100m relay
(44.10).

Division III NCAA champion Jeremy Scott of Allegheny College set the meet
record in the pole vault (5.55m/18-2.5) and Jamine Moton, the collegiate
record holder for Clemson, won the women’s hammer with a meet record
(65.10m/213-7). For results of the many other outstanding performances and
