Netters:

Please ignore my question about Anna Sherman in my recent post. I found
the answer myself on a second try at the Wake Forest site.

Anna is, as I suspected, our year 2000 all-group 800M champ from
West Essex High School, a transfer from Lafayette College. What puizzled me
was how well she is running CC this season after a very indifferent HS
career in the sport.

In HS, Anna ran just about everything except the 800 for three
years---she was regularly used as a sprinter in dual meets because she was
probably the fastest runner on her team. She also did fairly well at the
400M hurdles but, finally, as a senior, was given a full shot at the 800 and
defeated a pretty fair field in 2:13.31.

Though listed as a junior on the Wake Forest roster---her proper
school grade---she may have some extra eligibility as I am not sure that she
ran all her available seasons at Lafayette. her success this fall indicates
that she might well be able to make a move up to the 1500 as well. She is
the perfect example of a talent not fully realized in her younger years; it
will be interesting to see what she does in her future seasons with the
Deacons.
