Sports Illustrated:  Three of the first five Sportsmen of the Year were, as
gh would put it, athletes -- Bannister, Bobby Morrow, Rafer Johnson; then
Jim Ryun in 1966 and Mary Decker in 1983 and no one since.  Sad.
