Robert Papazian of Gill-St. Bernard's School had a sort of last laugh on the Newark Star Ledger yesterday when he won the intermediate division of the USATF Junior Olympic championships in 16:23, third fastest time of the day on the 5K course. As expected, Papazian was almost totally ignored in the disgraceful Star-Ledger all-state and all-county selections earlier in the week, being limited to a first-team selection in the prep school division. His credenbtials qualified him as Somerset County runner of the year as he won that title over a third-team all-state selection, Mike Klueber of Hillsboro. He was also, logically, a second-team all-state runner off his full season record whgich included a 26th-place finish in the Northeast Footlocker trials, a couple of second behind two first-team selections, Greg Hughes of Mainland and Peter Hess of Toms River North, and ahead oof another, Jon Anderson of Cinnaminson. This scenario will be repeated the next two years, by which time, Bobby could well be the state's No. 1 harrier. ` Ed Grant
