Greetings, all Club Northwest's Tony Young took sixth in an elite mile yesterday at a meet called the Husky Indoor Preview at the University of Washington in Seattle.
Not a bad time for the M40 miler -- an American masters record 4:08.60. Complete results: http://gohuskies.ocsn.com/sports/c-track/stats/011903aaa.html The UW Web site reports: "The announcement of Young's time of 4 minutes, 8.60 seconds -- half a second faster than the American masters' record --brought a roar from the crowd of roughly 2,500 in attendance at the largest indoor track and field meet ever held in the state of Washington." Tony easily won the 1500 and barely lost the 800 at the Orono masters nationals last year.
