For U.S. couch potatoes, '04 Games will be dream

By Michael Hiestand USA TODAY

U.S. television viewers usually miss lots of Olympic action. But they'll miss a lot
less of next
year's Summer Games in Athens, Greece. NBC and four channels it owns plan to produce
round-the-clock
coverage, including the first U.S. Olympic TV coverage in Spanish.

That unprecedented coverage, literally 24 hours per day, isn't expected to change
NBC's Olympic TV
formula of airing marquee events in prime time to reach maximum audiences, even if it
means those
events are tape-delayed.
