Ok, this will obviously startsomething, but. . . running a low two hour marathon is easier than simply completing the tour de france? I don't think so. Now, I know that just completing the tour within the time limits is a great accomplishment, but far lesser athletes than your typical 2:08 marathoner have done it. No way is it harder.
This type of poll is of course bogus. I can think of other things peripheral to our sport alone that are harder than running a fast marathon, including: -a sub-2:40 50K racewalk -a sub 6:20 100K on the road -Raid Galoise -Eco Challenge etc, etc, etc I'm not saying these things are more mpressive than running a fast marathon, but they are most assuredly harder. - Ed Parrot ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kurt Bray" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Friday, February 21, 2003 10:38 AM Subject: t-and-f: The 7th Hardest Thing to do in Sports > According to USA Today, running a fast marathon is the 7th hardest thing in > sports to accomplish, one place ahead of completing the Tour de France: > > http://www.usatoday.com/sports/2003-02-20-ten-hardest-marathon_x.htm > > They are counting down the top ten, one difficult thing each day, and today > they are featuring the marathon.
