** This is the quasi-official and semi-temporary T13 email list server. ** Pete and Darrin, 1. DCO command error outputs (6.i. e01108r0) I'd like to confirm the definition of Error outputs of Device Configuration set command in 8.7.4.6 in ATA/ATAPI-6 draft regarding 6.i. in e01108r0. I can't recall about this. If bit 5 in a word of the data structure cannot be changed, which should the byte be 05h or 20h (0010 0000)? According to ATA/ATAPI-6 Rev1b, it seems to be 20h. Is it correct? In this case, the outputs should be a word of 0020h. for example, using LBA-low and -Mid. If it should be 05h which indicates the bit number, the sentence " the register contains the number of the first bit encountered that cannot be changed." would be added in the description for considering more than 1 error condition. Please advise. 2.DCO command with invalid data structure revision. When a Device configuration set command is issued with invalid data structure revision, is it aborted with 00h in LBA-mid and LBA-high? 3. Figure 10 in 6.21 of ATA/ATAPI-6 Regarding State diagram in Figure 10, when a Device configuration set command is issued with the completely same data structure as Device configuration Identify data, this means there is no change of the configuration, does it move to DCO_Lock state or remain at Factory_config state? And should the command be aborted if it remains at Factory_config state? Thank you for your help.
