I have been looking at the black-and-white photograph I have of the
infulae bands, a fragment of which in in LACMA, that we have been discussing.
Much to my astonishment, I have discovered that there are small brocaded
TW bands across the bottoms of both infulae! The brocading
design is sharp patterned zigzigs on what looks like a groundweave of
"classic" TW, i.e. tablets all threaded with the same color, oriented S and Z
across the pack, and turned continuously in one direction forming a
herringbone texture. Alas, the photo cuts off the bottom part of the
little bands, so I don't think I can graph the design, but I will try to get a
better picture from Abegg Stiftung.
