Sponsored by TWIST - Tablet Weavers International Studies & Techniques
Hello everyone,
I thought I would share with you tablet weavers this note which I
received today from Michael at Passementeries d'Egypte in Cairo --
oh, the joy of helping someone appreciate the beauty of tablet weaving!
I have just visited your website, and was astonished at the sophistication
that can be achieved with tablet weaving. I had heard of tablet weaving but
had somehow associated it with somewhat basic "ethnic" designs - not that
there is anything wrong with that, but it doesn't fit with what we do.
However, the pictures of the Persian tapes on your site amazed me. The work
is fine and detailed and achieves something very similar to what I was
hoping to do with the jacquard - in fact the textured effect of the tablet
weave is in some respects superior.
I think that we must definitely look into this - once we have solved our
jacquard problem!
