basically I've abandoned the idea of ever using AjaxLinkSubmit.
while normal form components allow you to set the "disabled" property, anchor elements cannot be disabled.

what's happening here is the listener for "onclick" is being removed when the form is submitted.

dojo.event.disconnect(dojo.byId("emailSubmit"), "onclick",
                                   document, "AjaxFormSubmit_email_form");

my <a jwcid="[EMAIL PROTECTED]:AjaxLinkSubmit" > component is being rendered as follows
<a href="/" id="emailSubmit">Send Message</a>

when doing a double-click, the first click submits the form and the listener is
removed.
the second click follows the href to "/"

it would probably be okay if the link were rendered with "#" but I might
consider storing
information in there(the #) in the future.

someone more experienced than me might want to make that change...but mostly
i'm put off
from using AjaxLinkSubmit.

I'll probably use AjaxSubmit, or maybe work out my own button style and call
AjaxEventSubmit.

mostly I want to avoid Safari users from rendering mac "native" buttons to make
the site
consistent.

Well, effects and preEffects allow you to execute predefined effects before the
ajax-request and
after the ajax-response.
You can add your own effects, which means you can have custom javascript
executed.

See http://tacos.sourceforge.net/userguide/CustomEffects.html for a guide
+ let us know of your solution.

From Michael Lake <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:

Hello I'm new to Tacos and I love what I see so far..

just putting together my first form and it seems there's a bit of a design flaw..

try going to the demo page here:
http://demo.opennotion.com/tacos4/app?page=forms%2FAjaxSubmitExample&service=page

try filling in the form for "Link Submission" then double-click on "Backwards Name" link.

I'm thinking the most stylish way to make buttons is to use @tacos:AjaxLinkSubmit in conjunction with Tapestry's @Rollover component

I know you're probably thinking "hey, you're not suppose to double-click links!" but I have a step-father who double-clicks everything...

anyway...is there a way to disable the link from the first click to the time the there's an Ajax response?
