Subject: [Tacos-devel] Yet Another Autocompleter Question :-)

Some time ago I emailed in with inane questions about the Autocompleter ☺ . I
wanted to have a direct link which when clicked re-rendered as an
Autocompleter. With the help of a fellow list member I managed to do this but I
am now facing a different issue. When I submit the page the autocompleter's
value is not retrieved if it has not been rendered as the first component in
the page...to further explain what I mean

The component
<component id="clientAutoCompleter" type="tacos:Autocompleter" >
        <binding name="value" value="ognl:clientValue" />
                <binding name="listSource" value="ognl:searchList" />
                <binding name="direct" value="ognl:true" />
                <binding name="listener" value="listener:searchClients" />
</component>

And the html

<td>
        <span jwcid="[EMAIL PROTECTED]" id="clientUpdate">
                <span jwcid="@If" condition="ognl:!clientClicked">
                        <a jwcid="@tacos:AjaxDirectLink"
updateComponents="ognl:{'clientUpdate'}"
    listener="listener:clientClick">
                                <span jwcid="client">Client</span>
                        </a>
                </span>
                <span jwcid="@If" condition="ognl:clientClicked">

                        <span class="auto_complete"
jwcid="clientAutoCompleter"/>
                </span>
        </span>
</td>

As this stands, the value from abstract getClientValue() is not returned

If however I swap the condition around so that the autocompleter is rendered
initially and not the link getClientValue() returns a value...

Any ideas why this might be happening? I'm using the latest version from SVN.

Thank you,

Yiannis
