For an ugly workaround for datepicker... read on!

You can try including its js even if it's not currently visible...

create a .script with

<script>
<include-script 
resource-path="/net/sf/tacos/ajax/components/jscalendar/calendar_withjavadateformat.js"/>
<include-script 
resource-path="/net/sf/tacos/ajax/components/jscalendar/lang/calendar-en.js"/>
<include-script 
resource-path="/net/sf/tacos/ajax/components/jscalendar/calendar-setup.js"/>
</script>

and always include it in your page (anticipating for the datepicker's 
appearance) :)
