Not deprecated, but considered on a case-by-case basis. It is a question of whether important navigation information would be deleted if the seamark tags were removed. In the case of bridges, the safe air draft and beam are important attributes that should be kept, but a bridge that is absent those seamark attribute tags need not carry the "seamark:type=bridge" tag.
