There are lots of people around deriving tag meaning based on taginfo data. If the wiki doc is not in sync with their findings, it is tempting to document the state empirically observable. In some cases, spare the one that caused this thread, editing the wiki has less resistance than e.g. trying to achieve consensus for a mechanical edit (which is error prone even if legitimate) to fix sloppy data.
