You can but it often leads to a bit of a mess as you can still use "any
tags you like" and so you tend to end up with two "standards" running in
parallel for quite a while. Of course if all "non dry" risers shared a
scheme and "dry" was out there on its own for a while that might be ok in
the interim too.
