#833: reject mutable children when *reading* an immutable dirnode
---------------------------------------------+------------------------------
Reporter: warner | Owner: warner
Type: defect | Status: assigned
Priority: critical | Milestone: 1.6.0
Component: code-dirnodes | Version: 1.5.0
Keywords: integrity forward-compatibility | Launchpad_bug:
---------------------------------------------+------------------------------
Comment(by zooko):
Oh, so this suggests a further refinement: child links that have caps that
begin with one of our defined prefixes such as {{{URI:CHK:}}} but which
are not well-formed according to {{{uri.from_string()}}} will ''not'' be
treated as child links potentially-from-the-future but instead as bad
child links, the same as child links which try to provide mutable access
to you when they are in a mutable directory.
