That's a good idea.  Moreover, really it should try to return the
contents of statvfs, so that 'df' on a sytem with a FUSE mount will work
right.  (usual rant tahoe isn't as special as it thinks)

I suspect 'how much is free' is tricky, but your approach sounds right.
