Hi,

Michael English:
Tails should have a page on the website dedicated to recommended
computer hardware.

intrigeri:
I'd be glad to see a team commit to set up _and maintain_ such
a page :)

USB Sticks would be a reasonable start.

Also, major computer manufacturers are known
to have BIOS level backdoors which renders Tails security useless.
Smaller computer manufacturers on the above list would be less likely to
violate users' security and privacy on a hardware level.

there are such "backdoors" in Intel ME (present in any
recent Intel CPU, cannot be disabled in practice), and most computer
manufacturers use firmware (BIOS) provided by very few vendors

Maybe a DIY BIOS how-to would be a more reasonable start, though quite
out of scope of the documentation, maybe. Similar things have been
touched on [0].

Spencer

Personally, with my Lenovo X200, I have removed the BIOS from the manufacturer ( https://www.theregister.co.uk/2015/08/12/lenovo_firmware_nasty/ ) and I have change for Libreboot ( https://libreboot.org )

This is my solution, but if you want to keep Windows it doesn't work
