On the topic of the microphone, I see that certain mobile messaging and
voice chat applications have been discussed on being included. There was
one specifically in an issue I can't find at the moment but is add-on
for mumble to work over a hidden service like OnionShare but for voice
chats.

If that is the case tails should automatically obfuscation/mask the
users voice (voice changer) by default since voice fingerprinting is a
thing. Also just like you see whistleblowers and sources hide their
voices on videos and interviews.
This is a good video on setting up "Carla" with Pipewire but the Jack
module with PulseAudio is similar:

Hi,
Thanks for the suggestion!
I thought that we already had a GitLab issue to add microphone and
camera to a future feature of the Persistent Storage, but I couldn't
find it.
So I expended the scope of #7246:

I don't think that we should disable these by default, but we could make
these opt-out through the Persistent Storage.
They also seem to fit well together.

Hello,
My suggestion is brief, but I think very effective and safe.
It would be very good if, in the menu "Applications" -> "System Tools"
- > "Settings" -> "Privacy," the camera and microphone were turned
off by default. This way, when turning on the device, one cannot
accidentally or unintentionally disclose information.
Can that be arranged?
Thank you very much!
Greetings, Mike
