(Disclaimer: I'm sorry I haven't the first email in this thread, and
this list has no archive, so sorry if I'm confused.)

Assuming this volume is a Tails persistent volume, and you're trying
to unlock it from a non-Tails system (correct me if I'm wrong):

Does this persistent volume work fine in Tails?

* If it does not, then we might have a problem with Tails (unless
  Tails tells you the passphrase is incorrect as well...), and this
  conversation is on-topic here.

* If it does work in Tails, then well, that's a problem with your
  non-Tails system, and there's not much we can do about it. I would
  bet one some keyboard layout mismatch. Plausible?
