IRC Channel #tails Gateway Report From: Apr. 19, 2014 To: Apr. 25, 2014
------------------------------------ *** Documentation and Website: ------------------------------------ A Tor developer (pretty sure) noted: "the Apple hardware section could use an update. Some Mac's are able to boot Tails now, some have working wifi too. I believe there's a table on a github page showing details, perhaps link to that?" ----------------------------------- *** Call for testing: ----------------------------------- 1 report new test iso for uefi booted and created persistent volume on computer that could not boot or create persistent volume with current 0.23. Believe user used nightly april 22, 2014. Computer brand, etc. unspecified. ----------------------------------- *** Issues: ----------------------------------- User reported that he could not boot Tails on a Chromebook C720 (received out of memory error before loading initramfs) user reported if he appended "mem=1500M" in boot options, Tails would boot fine. User suggested that syslinux was not detecting memory correctly in his opinion. This user also posted "i can boot the machine by translating between the syslinux liveamd64 config and grub's instruction set, which lets me run Tails fine." ---------------------------------- *** Known Issues: ---------------------------------- User said that he manually added a hidden folder to the persistent folder and it made his whole persistent volume folder disappear when he rebooted. 1 user posted: I was reading https://tails.boum.org/blueprint/UEFI/syslinux/ and https://tails.boum.org/blueprint/UEFI/ and https://labs.riseup.net/code/issues/5739 . FWIW, I just wanted to let you know that the current upstream Syslinux 6.03-pre11 has several relevant improvements/corrections over the current Syslinux package in Debian experimental (6.03-pre1). -- Notice(zwiebelbot): [Tails#5739: Support UEFI boot - Tails] ---------------------------------- *** Features: ---------------------------------- 1 user posted this: "i think the tails installer could be a bit friendlier by noticing that the device is too small in the first place and emitting a human-readable warning." ---------------------------------- *** Potential FAQ questions: ---------------------------------- << no comments >> ---------------------------------- *** Miscellaneous: ---------------------------------- << no comments >> --Cheers! _______________________________________________ tails-support mailing list [email protected] https://mailman.boum.org/listinfo/tails-support To unsubscribe from this list, send an empty email to [email protected].
