Ive been trying to get my canon printer to be persistent in tails, so far ive been able to get it to work successfully by logging in as root and executing these commands in root terminal:
cd /live/persistence/TailsData_unlocked/Persistent/PrinterDriver dpkg -i cnijfilter-common_3.60-1_i386.deb dpkg -i cnijfilter-mg2100series_3.60-1_i386.deb Once i do this it will print fine but it doesnt persist even with printer persistence enabled in the persistence config menu. A reddit user helped by telling me where the .ppd file was installed to, so i went into root terminal, opened root nautilus, navigated to the persistence.conf file and opened it in gedit. I added the line: /usr/share/ppd restarted, reinstalled the drivers, restarted, and it could locate the driver, however it complained about a missing file in a folder located in: /usr/lib/cups so i added that to persistence.conf, restarted, reinstalled drivers, restarted, and it doesnt complain, but when i go to print the print job appears then disappears and it wont print. There must be another directory to make persistent here, does anyone know what that might be? _______________________________________________ tails-support mailing list [email protected] https://mailman.boum.org/listinfo/tails-support To unsubscribe from this list, send an empty email to [email protected].
