Thanks for trying! Attaching syslog would help diagnosing this
problem. I think I know what it is, but I'm just guessing.

... but the MAC address would not be spoofed, and would silently leak.

I doubt we'll manage to fix the network problem any time soon.
I've been happy to spend time including the broadcom-sta module, but
apparently it's fully buggy on your hardware wrt. MAC spoofing, and
given that it's proprietary software there is nothing we can do about
it => you'll need to plug in a supported network adapter, e.g.
via USB. Sorry.

In any case, please retry with the latest ISO, MAC spoofing disabled,
and attach syslog.
