Hi,

I wish to comment on the published instructions on how to verify the
integrity of the Tails ISO.

I have followed the instructions for the command line procedure and am
not able to complete it.

Here is the list of commands and responses I have so far:

administrator@home1:/home1_storage/TAILS$ gpg --keyid-format long
--import tails-signing.key
gpg: key DBB802B258ACD84F: public key "Tails developers (offline
long-term identity key) <[email protected]>" imported
gpg: Total number processed: 1
gpg: imported: 1 (RSA: 1)
gpg: 3 marginal(s) needed, 1 complete(s) needed, PGP trust model
gpg: depth: 0 valid: 1 signed: 0 trust: 0-, 0q, 0n, 0m, 0f, 1u
gpg: next trustdb check due at 2018-10-25

administrator@home1:/home1_storage/TAILS$ gpg --keyid-format long
--verify tails-i386-1.4.1.iso.sig tails-i386-1.4.1.iso
gpg: can't open `tails-i386-1.4.1.iso.sig'
gpg: verify signatures failed: file open error

So I then repeated the steps ...

administrator@home1:/home1_storage/TAILS$ gpg --keyid-format long
--import tails-signing.key
gpg: key DBB802B258ACD84F: "Tails developers (offline long-term identity
key) <[email protected]>" not changed
gpg: Total number processed: 1
gpg: unchanged: 1

administrator@home1:/home1_storage/TAILS$ gpg --keyid-format long
--verify tails-i386-1.4.1.iso.sig tails-i386-1.4.1.iso
gpg: can't open `tails-i386-1.4.1.iso.sig'
gpg: verify signatures failed: file open error

The .sig file is not correct but I don't know what is the correct file.

I'm on LTS Ubuntu (14.04.2 ?) that is updated to now - 10th Aug 2015.

Thanks,

Steve.
