Hi, I'm confirming the regression on an actual hardware, not VMWare virtual machine. I've used Tails since 0.33 and it worked on the same hardware up to 2.6. I am using some old Asus P5K WS mobo (no UEFI), Intel Core2 CPU, 4 GB RAM, Radeon HD6450.
I upgraded Tails USB in a standard way (was prompted to upgrade, download size 304.15MiB). After a reboot, while selecting Live boot option, kernel unpacks and the system halts almost instantly with the same error message: Probing EDD (edd=off to disable)... ok I also tried the failsafe option, added "debug nosplash" boot options, but the system froze at the same point using both boot options (Caps Lock LED doesn't light up when the key is pressed) at the same point: early console in setup code Probing EDD (edd=off to disable)... ok At first I thought my USB was bricked so I succesfully downloaded and verified tails-i386-2.7.iso via TorBrowser Add-on with sha256 sum: 164dd41ddc3c1713df570e2379c35796edea93b2561afe82eb112252ec078651 tails-i386-2.7.iso and burnt it to a DVD. Booting Tails 2.7 still fails the exact same way as described above. Luckily I've kept Tails 2.6 ISO so I still can report this issue. If you have any further questions or want me to test some other options, feel free to ask. Cheers, Iben _______________________________________________ tails-support mailing list [email protected] https://mailman.boum.org/listinfo/tails-support To unsubscribe from this list, send an empty email to [email protected].
