I've also been told that the MAC spoofing feature breaks these use
cases, since the monitor interface (typically: mon0) that gets created
has its MAC address spoofed after airmon-ng creates it, which confuses
the aircrack-ng software suite. So even if the problem you're
mentioning was fixed, chances are that this use case would still
be broken.

No idea, sorry. But if you find one, this could be very useful info
for a number of other people :)  And if there's no workaround, IMO we
should stop including tools that cannot work on current Tails.
