You were working correclty under Tails 2.6? Have you tried downloading a 2.6 image to a new USB stick and booting it, and seeing if it works there still?
Please provide the make and model of the computer you're using, as well as the make and model of the keybvoard and mouse. Are they USB or Bluetooth or Wireless? If they work fine nder 2.6 and do not work under 2.7, I recommend opening a bug with the description of the hardware.
