-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA512 Quoting from a post in the Yahoo! Group PGPNET:
- ---------- https://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/04/18/homograph_attack_again/ The article shows links that look like "apple.com" or "epic.com", but are actually "xn--80ak6aa92e.com" and "xn--e1awd7f.com". At the present time it affects Firefox 52 and it's derivatives, as well as Chrome 57. I've used about:config to change the Cyberfox setting: network.IDN_show_punycode from false to true - ---------- When using Tor Browser in Tails the above fix is not persistent. While changing network.IDN_show_punycode from false to true reveals the true link composition, the setting reverts to false when Tails is shut down and rebooted. A permanent remedy can only be implemented by the Tails developers -- please change the default value to true which is what Mozilla should have done in the first place. Keep up the good work, Whitey p.s. People interested in OpenPGP encryption should check out PGPNET. I have received many good security tips there. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQIzBAEBCgAdFiEEXFLMF+u0RhKcUNOWYTKmlDUcD98FAlj2DAsACgkQYTKmlDUc D9/hbRAAgqMkMjRUtGoFkKp4hHUF6NffZ33QMSUk2ILMdIcU9KoQH5LJTXVDtbx7 DTGinA3wSPp2sHm8w3rFBvA7Kcqi3SnERFGOTfzkYQ/3JQ5tgcfkqFMFcFl/EjOe tKR2tzQL6zlqHLtXVtLy4HWHS8moalrvWwpnEODVoi4a+vWfK5gXBjilWQYyNTc+ vMw9p4XWLOlCsvS0Fz24oPY17vBjVNWFz4QoQhWs5vfjiZi3vhZXO8UUb7zUlNSX ry+HdoSxGo0TSW7jF7LOVuUzc06GACm8X4Bk5Srx19fJt0YYcG2vR/Y8OCuhmI2m XzA7MFwvjkNq0P63R45/2E5h2CCuIS5fZ8okF361GOIwGekIecvi97EGM9uI8Nx7 4Ec4GzjkfF3qdeeEka7rPqAso3uGiMC4i3Ak7qINnFpiqiLRGyBKs35Qpxas8jIx zRrZIyJjt2DuAp+frvaktGqEIlv73OdZEMS/GDDg516sHOpfdVlA5TNxxH6i+NFo sub1RgRx4s0gXIET6e+/En2rTJtSuvy/jvSvz2k3Ovl2D37faq9iZ5tzN1+B3wnw ONcfD4pwcAUThk/ESttqdv7qRx4/vKuoFID9wVPu7xum8F5vc2qXDLJfJwbvlnmq +aNQ3PeaBZL5LhEyVPNM2uXB6SPRvJaq/jjPkkuVR1Eer90L7cqIdQQBEwoAHRYh BDIGynJFCtgYld+gl4DKNIgCEbxABQJY9gwLAAoJEIDKNIgCEbxA5c0BAIk7Crgy rtwaAqJGCn0q0rMZRIZHp4dc5+J+Aa4+bCYNAQCKx6D3VA4Us9bXndH/Wm83TreC 5jYuQz6it1xjQt3BxQ== =il+V -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ tails-support mailing list [email protected] https://mailman.boum.org/listinfo/tails-support To unsubscribe from this list, send an empty email to [email protected].
