Quoting from a post in the Yahoo! Group PGPNET:

- ----------
https://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/04/18/homograph_attack_again/

The article shows links that look like "apple.com" or "epic.com", but
are actually "xn--80ak6aa92e.com" and "xn--e1awd7f.com".

At the present time it affects Firefox 52 and it's derivatives, as well
as Chrome 57.

I've used about:config to change the Cyberfox setting:
network.IDN_show_punycode
from false to true
- ----------

When using Tor Browser in Tails the above fix is not persistent. While
changing network.IDN_show_punycode from false to true reveals the true
link composition, the setting reverts to false when Tails is shut down
and rebooted. A permanent remedy can only be implemented by the Tails
developers -- please change the default value to true which is what
Mozilla should have done in the first place.

Keep up the good work,

Whitey

p.s. People interested in OpenPGP encryption should check out PGPNET. I
have received many good security tips there.
