I have a simiar machine. Do you have both nvidia and intel graphics? If so,
when you boot up the tails stick and see the 'Tails" selection, make sure it is
highlighted (should be) and hit the Tab key before it times out. Add the line
(without the quotes): 'nouveau.modeset=0'. This disables your Nvidia graphics
driver. It works for my machine.

If the above doesn't work, when your stuck on te blue screen, do a
<ctrl><enter><del> combo and see if it say gnome-desktop-not-responding. If so,
it's probably a graphic card issue. You can try the 'nomodeset' parameter
instead of the 'nouveau.modeset=0' option and see if you can now boot up. In my
case though I get stuck in a VGA resolution.

Let me know how it goes

Subject: [Tails-support] Tails 2.12 fails to load on machine on which 2.9.1
loads fine

I have a Lenovo Z70-80. Tails 2.9.1 loads fine on it.

I downloaded the tails-i386-2.12.iso and used gpg to verify it. I then wrote
the ISO out to an Emtec 16 USB drive. Tails began to load from that drive but
did not finish loading successfully:

- When it asked me whether I wanted to log in with extra features, I just
clicked login.
- That dialog vanished but then returned a few moments later.
- I clicked login again, the screen turned fully-blue, but the desktop failed
to appear. The system was not completely hung though, as I could still move the
mouse pointer around.

Thinking that maybe it was a problem with the USB drive, I tried with a CDROM.
Same problem. I then tried booting from the USB drive with the
"live-media=removable" option omitted. Same problem.

When I tried in Troubleshooting Mode, things seem to hang after this message:
"Begin: Running /scripts/init-premount ..."

I'm running out of ideas. Anything else I should try?
