There seems to be a bug just now where you go to zoom level 13, then as you scroll in the resolution doesn't seem to get any better ... I almost gave up on it. May I recommend you persevere until zoom level 18 where the detailed imagery kicks in. This "trick" works for at least the Surfers Paradise, Robina and Varsity Lakes areas.
