I don't think those virtual nodes or the change of appearance of the mouse
pointer can be controlled by mapcss. Those are features of JOSM and to
change their behaviour or appearance would involve changing the JAVA source
code of JOSM.
It's open source software, so this is not impossible to do, but it's a lot
less trivial than creating a mapcss style sheet.
