We have 2 rules, the what's on the ground rule (since I'm wondering about bus stops this could be what's on the flag, or what's in big letters on the shelter). The other rule is we expand abbreviations. Abbreviations like OCMW don't really lend them for this. They are better known and recognized as OCMW than as "Openbaar Centrum? voor Maatschappelijk Welzijn".
I guess since AZ is somewhat ambiguous, we don't really have a choice. I expanded it (probably erroneously) to Academisch Ziekenhuis... UZ is quite clear to me, but that might be because there is one in my backyard. AGIV is no real help here (except to expand streetnames used as bus stop names, some of the time). Anyway, even for street names, what's on the street sign doesn't always help. I've noticed several times that some name tags have the full name and others an abbreviation, probably as a result of being put there in a different 'era'. For street names, I think, we should try to expand as much as possible, especially first names, if at all possible.
