Thanks John,
SOTM - State Of The Map ... the origional idea to try to be a micro version
of the State of The Map - Annual international meeting of mappers around the
world.
But like i mentioned on the last message i sent out, It might be better if
it gets hosted by OSGeo, considering that OpenStreetMap - Canada is not a
registered organization, and that way i could be one of a few speakers, ...
otherwise it would be mapping party with more discussions and presenations.

It would be great to learn about mapping ski resorts. In BC there are lots
all around, which need to be mapped. .. and learning how to incorporate
different devices would certainly be of benifit to the group.

Also, it would also be great to see JOSM and Merrarator, used on a mac &
ibuntu, .. as well as using potlatch..
I can also demonstrate using Kosmos. .. & Transfering the map to Garmin,
using sendmap & mkgmap, as well as using mapset-tool-kit (to create garmin
mapsource maps)...

I could also demonstrate (or someone else can) how to use relation routes,
for mapping local trails and touring routes. I think in Ottawa is a Big
Bus (double decker) tour route, which could also be mapped.

We can also demonstrate walking papers (http://walking-papers.org/) as thats
getting more popular for mapping parties.

And we can also demonstrate ITOWorld - OSMmapper
http://www.itoworld.com/static/osmmapper
 ... etc...
