Adam, Yes, about the data model, it would simply be to suggest what we would like to see collected for specific features. The goal would be to define a project on openstreetmap for Canada, we have a pretty good idea of what the project will be. I will give a summary of what we hope to do with the openstreetmap community and your advice would be very helpful.

If the project proposes some sort of change to the structure of OSM itself, it would need to be brought before the Board of the Foundation (see http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Foundation for more information on that). I assume that, being that this is Statistics Canada, changes to the structure are not the goal, just some sort of improvement on the map data in Canada. If that is the case, give us the summary of what you wish to do and we will certainly try to help where possible. We are interested in knowing more about putting together a potential project with openstreetmap. I have a couple of questions: who should we talk to? Is there a board or admins we should be talking to? How do we submit a project we would like to invite contributors to participate in? Also, could we define the data model for the collection? Any insights would be welcomed!
