*About UNOSAT:*
UNOSAT, the Operational Satellite Applications Program of the United
Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) is a center of
excellence for satellite imagery and geospatial analysis within the UN
system. Based at the CERN research facility outside Geneva, Switzerland,
UNOSAT was initially created as a project within UNITAR in 2001 and
subsequently became a full-fledged Program in 2006. UNOSAT utilizes
geospatial technologies to address critical international issues in the
areas of human rights and security, disaster response, humanitarian relief
and territorial development planning. Currently UNOSAT responds to requests
from UN partner agencies and produces tangible output in the form of
products (maps and geographic information layers) and services (dynamic
mapping of crises, damage assessment, in-field deployment, technical
assistance, analysis, and more).

*Speakers:*

   - *Gabriele Almon, GIS & Data Analyst Technical Lead, NetHope*
   - *Lars Bromley, Principal Analyst, UNOSAT, Geneva*
