The "large river" problem is also related to the "closed coastline" one. I don't like having to decide where I close coastlines at the end of a large river.
Couldn't we tag riverbank with the same rules as coastline, and let them both be processed by the same pre-processor ? Using this method, coastlines don't have to be "closed" anymore on estuary.
