For example, someone has written a tool that uses traces to verify the output of a routing engine (driver obviously went from A to B via route X, routing engine suggested something different - why?), and others are working on automatically guessing turn restrictions and maxspeeds from tracks. These uses always have a statistical component to them (the individual driver might have been slow because he was watching something or talking on his phone, the individual driver may have taken a wrong turn somewhere), i.e. you need many to make sense.
