You beat me to it ;-) I believe that the rendering we currently have for oneway should actually be limited to highways. It is true that oneway=yes may make sense on waterways and railways, too, but the arrow as styled will be near invisible if drawn on a railway or waterway (and once people start correctly tagging tram tracks with oneway tags things will get *very* confusing).
