I say go ahead and use it. In addition to your response from Hants CC, I
found the following on OS's website (see Paul's reply 10, January, 2011 at
5:01):

"But because we know that OS OpenData is used in different formats, how the
acknowledgement is included is entirely at the discretion of the user." [1]

It would look like OS don't mind too much. He uses the example of the
cyclestreets website that maintain a separate credits page. As OS is
already in OSMs credit page and any use of OSM data has a attribution back
to OSM, there is a clear trail for discovering credits.
