Philip has been doing this for quite a while (see toot of mine in the
Spring https://en.osm.town/@SK53/114987082927846337).

I think Owen Boswarva has expressed doubts as to whether the NSUL dataset
from ONS is truly open data (notwithstanding the OGL licence). IIRC this is
because it is not clear how the association of UPRN to postcode is
constructed, and a risk that this involves use of non-open data.

In the past I've created simple data lookups associating OSM ways with
UPRNs in a similar way, but have not added most UPRNs to OSM. However, I do
use the data to check postcodes when I'm not sure exactly where they change
(usually on Mark Goodge's uprn.uk site).
