I had two thoughts on this.
- I feel like this concept would potentially be better mapped by the
amenity=parcel_locker though that is debatable given the wiki's
definitions and the general application of that tag and it's auxiliary tags.
- Post boxes also accept parcels so whatever modification made to the
post box tag would need to distinguish between the three types; letters,
small_parcels and large_parcels which feels like potentially a problem.
Perhaps information could be added about the maximum dimension of parcel
accepted along with info about if there is a hatch and electronics to
specifically handle the parcel. That way the concept would generalise to
other jurisdictions with different sized post boxes as well.
Look forward to seeing where this goes.

Sadly in this case, I'm not seeing anything jump out as the new
modification - `parcel`?.
The OSM UK wiki also seems to be silent on the new type:

This suggest I should nip up to the box 300m from me, take a photo,
and donate it as a CC0 image whilst we discuss tagging options!
Visually, they look like `post_box:type=meter,` but with the
electronics added, and the wiki shows the same issue - the boxes are
still `post_box:type=*`, but with an extra thingy added, so perhaps
an extra tag?:
`post_box:parcel=yes`
`post_box:app=yes`
???
