hi, In India, the crucial differentiation for restaurants is veg or non-veg. I propose tags for this (only for India of course):
restaurant=veg <------------ symbol for this would be the restaurant symbol sorrounded by a green circle restaurant=nonveg <------- symbol symbol with red circle How this would work would be, the additional tags would be ignored by the osm server, and the general restaurant symbol shown.
